ADMISSION PROCESS

    1. Fill the given admission form available on Sigma University official website www.sigmauniversity.ac.in.
    2. After filling the form, send an email with list of following scanned documents on international.admissions@sigmauniversity.ac.in
      • Statement of purpose
      • Mention the course you wish to join!
      • Photocopies of Transcripts equivalent to levels “O”, “A”, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree (All year mark sheet) and Degree Certificate, Master’s etc. (whichever is applicable)
      • Photocopies of Academic/Sports/Social Achievement (if any)
      • Photocopies of student’s passport. (if available as on day) or National ID proof Note: If the content in the marks sheet is not in English, then the certified English translated version must also be submitted in addition to the native language certificate
    3. Confirmation of Admission: Your documents shall be scrutinized by the Admission Committee. If the committee approves your admission, then we will inform you through email and will send you Provisional Admission Letter not applicable for Visa Purpose, offering you admission and contains all details of your Admission fee, Course and immigration.
    4. Payment of Admission Fee: As per the offer letter received, acceptance of Fee Payment shall be Bank or SWIFT Transfer: Deposit fee in University Account by wire/SWIFT transfer. The student / friend /relative may also pay fee in cash in the Accounts Section of Sigma university.
    5. Payment of Fees: Student needs to pay the minimum amount discussed at the time of admission, same would be mentioned in the offer letter/ Invoice for the Payment. Students can use any payment mode mentioned above. Issuance of Fee Receipt is subject to realization of fees transferred in the bank account.
    6. Final Admission letter: The Admission Confirmation Letter stating confirmation of your admission shall be sent to you.
    7. Send the air tickets one week prior to arrival. Happy Boarding.
PRE-ARRIVAL

  • Travel Essential: Kindly ensure you have obtained your Indian visa before your travel. It’s recommended to allocate 2-3 weeks for visa processing.   • Flight Reservations: We suggest you to arrange your flights directly to Vadodara. Alternatively, Flights can be scheduled for Ahmedabad, which has convenient connections to Vadodara.
  • Vaccinations: For your health and safety, consider preventive vaccinations before your trip. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, provides additional health tips for travelers.
  • Foreign Exchange: While credit cards are widely accepted, carrying some Indian currency is advisable, especially for places relying on cash transactions. Currency exchange services are available at Indian airports.
  • Transportation to Sigma University: Upon arrival at Ahmedabad International Airport, you can book a taxi to Vadodara city. From there, pre-book a taxi for a 2-hour journey to Sigma University. The Public transportation options are also available from Ahmedabad to Vadodara through central bus stand, from where you can hire an auto-rickshaw or taxi to reach the university. Alternatively, services like Ola, Uber, and Rapido offer convenient transportation options.
  • Reaching Sigma University from the Main Railway Station: Vadodara Station, approximately 15 km from Sigma University, is easily accessible by taxi or auto-rickshaw from the main railway station. The railway station and Baroda Central Bus Stand are located opposite each other.
BEFORE COMING TO SIGMA UNIVERSITY

  • Visa and Documentation: You should obtain the necessary Indian visa and fill the necessary required online forms.
  • Health Insurance: Ensure you have comprehensive health insurance coverage for the duration of your stay (year to year).
  • Financial Preparation: Confirm you have sufficient finances to support yourself during your entire visit.
  • Documentation: You should carry all the original documents required along with passport size photographs for official purposes?

POST ARRIVAL AT SIGMA UNIVERSITY
  • FRRO (Registration with Police): If your stay exceeds 180 days, it’s mandatory to report to the Police within 14 days from your arrival to India. Please visit the Office of International Relations with your passport as soon as you arrive at Sigma University.
  • University Enrollment: Carry all the necessary documents and complete your enrollment in the university. You will be given your enrollment number along with an Identity Card.
  • Carrying and Producing Documents: Students must carry a copy of their Residence Permit (RP) or Registration Certificate (RC) while traveling within India. Additionally, you are required to present these documents to the Immigration Office at the airport each time you return to your country.
  • Visa Extension: In the event of a Student Visa nearing expiration during the course of study, students are obligated to apply for an extension of online visa at least 30 days prior to its expiry. This can be done through the official website (www.indianfrro.gov.in).
  • Vacation and Visa Application: When foreign nationals wish to apply for a Student Visa from their home country during vacations, they must obtain a Bonafide Certificate from their respective institution/faculty. Furthermore, they need to procure an Eligibility Certificate from the International Admissions Office, Sigma University, Vadodara.
  • Renewal of Documents: Foreign Nationals are advised to renew their Residence Permit (RP) and Registration Certificate (RC) online promptly as and when it expires, or if they acquire a new student visa. This renewal process can be completed through the official website (www.indianfrro.gov.in).

International Semester Exchange Program

Overview

Our Semester Exchange Program allows Sigma students to study abroad at one of our partner universities for 1–2 semesters, while international students are welcomed to experience Indian education and culture on our campus.

International Transfer Program

Overview

This program allows Sigma students to begin their degree in India and transfer after 1–2 years to complete it at a partner university abroad. The credits earned at Sigma are transferred based on pre-approved agreements.

Can I apply without IELTS/TOEFL?

Can I change my course after admission?

No, as it is subject to seat availability and academic eligibility.

Are Sigma University degrees recognized globally?

Yes, all our degrees are University Grants Commission (UGC) -approved and recognized internationally.

What is the teaching style in India?

Classes are a mix of lectures, group work, practical sessions, case studies, and projects. Attendance and participation are important.

Can I work part-time while studying?

No, international students in India are not allowed to work during their course of study. You can opt for Internship programs.

How long does it take to get a Student VISA?

It varies by country, but it generally takes 2–4 weeks. We recommend applying as soon as you receive your admission letter.

Do I need to register with the FRRO?

Yes. Students must register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office within 14 days of arrival. Sigma University provides full assistance.

What if my VISA expires during the course?

You must apply for an extension at least 30 days before expiration. The International Office will help with the process.

Will someone pick me up at the airport?

Yes, free pickup is available from Vadodara or Ahmedabad airport for all new international students, provided details are submitted in advance.

What should I do if my flight is delayed?

Inform the International Office immediately by phone or WhatsApp. Alternative pickup arrangements will be made.

Should I exchange money before coming?

It’s advisable to bring some Indian Rupees (INR) for immediate expenses. You can also exchange at the airport or open a local bank account after arrival.

Are hostels compulsory for international students?

No, but we strongly recommend staying on campus for at least the first semester to settle in and access full support services.

Can I cook in the hostel?

Cooking is not allowed in hostel rooms, but shared kitchenettes or cooking zones may be available in select facilities.

Are vegetarian food options available on campus?

Yes, the university mess provides vegetarian meals and a limited selection of non- vegetarian options, taking cultural dietary preferences into account

Will I have a roommate?

Yes, rooms are typically twin- or triple-sharing with other international or Indian students. Single rooms may be available on request.

Is health insurance mandatory?

Yes, all international students must have valid health insurance, either from Sigma University’s partner provider or your home country.

What should I do if I get sick?

Sigma University has an on-campus health centre and tie-ups with local hospitals. Your insurance can be used for cashless treatments or reimbursement claims.

Is India safe for international students?

Yes, Sigma University’s campus is secure with 24/7 guards, CCTV, and emergency response. Students are advised to follow general travel safety precautions.

Is mental health counselling available?

How do I open a bank account?

The International Office will guide you to open an account with our partner banks. A local address, passport, and valid VISA are required.

Can I use my international debit/credit card?

Yes, but transaction charges may apply. We recommend opening a local bank account within the first week of arrival.

How do I get a local SIM card?

SIM cards are arranged during orientation. A passport-sized photo and a copy of your VISA are required for activation.

Is Wi-Fi available in hostels?

Yes, internet is provided in all academic and residential buildings on campus.
