The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a five-year undergraduate professional program from the Academic Year 2026–27.

About the Bachelor of Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy practice spans the continuum from health promotion and disease prevention to rehabilitation for individuals and populations across the lifespan. Physiotherapists diagnose movement dysfunctions through skilled examination and evaluation regardless of the cause or aetiology and provide therapeutic interventions to restore physical function and improve overall quality of life.

Quality physiotherapy care requires a strong foundation in basic medical sciences, clinical sciences, and physiotherapy techniques. With rapid advancements in healthcare technologies and rehabilitation approaches, the role of the physiotherapist (PT) continues to expand in scope and responsibility.

Modern physiotherapy education emphasizes the development of professionals who can integrate scientific knowledge with clinical decision-making. Dedicated education programs therefore provide students with a strong theoretical foundation, practical skills, and clinical competence, enabling them to synthesize, evaluate, and apply their knowledge effectively in clinical settings.

The aim of the program is to produce physiotherapists who are:

Technically and clinically competent for independent decision making
Competent to assess a patient
Aware of patient conditions and treatment along with the importance of quality assurance
Understand the theoretical basis for evidence-based practice
Effective members of the multidisciplinary team

Duration

5 Years (including 1 year of Compulsory Rotatory Internship) from AY 2026-27

Eligibility for Admission

Must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) from any recognised Indian board or a
duly constituted Board or National Open School with pass marks with minimum 50%
in aggregate of physics, chemistry and biology (botany & zoology),
He/she should have attained the age of 17 years as on the date of admission.
