The Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation PROGRAM
The Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation program at the Faculty of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation at Sigma University is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in healthcare. The program provides students with a comprehensive education in physiotherapy, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various physical disabilities, injuries, and illnesses.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in exercise therapy, biomechanics and kinesiology, electrotherapy, physical and functional diagnosis, physiotherapy in orthopaedics, neurology, medical and surgical rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, and other related subjects.
The programme also provides students with practical learning opportunities through supervised practice, clinical postings, and a compulsory rotatory internship, allowing them to develop hands-on experience in real-world settings.
Graduates of the programme are well prepared to pursue careers in clinical settings as physiotherapists, working independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. The National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) allows the practice of physiotherapy in academic, clinical, and research settings from level 6 to level 10.

The Internship and research projects provide an opportunity to students to build a healthy and positive relationship with the corporate world and pave the way for future placement.
Each student shall be posted on a compulsory rotatory internship of a total of 26 weeks (6 months) in the musculoskeletal, neurology, cardiopulmonary, and community physiotherapy departments.
